The Civic World Most People Never See

There are more than 800,000 appointed boards and commissions across the United States, representing approximately 4.5 million civic seats.

These are not symbolic roles. They carry real authority and responsibility — shaping decisions in areas like water, housing, land use, public health, education, licensing, and infrastructure.

Yet this entire layer of civic life remains largely invisible — with seats sitting unfilled, recycled among a small circle of insiders, or operating without the full participation of capable citizens.

A Clear Pathway Into Civic Participation

Find Your Seat creates a practical, guided pathway into this civic world — helping people move from not knowing these roles exist to actively exploring where they can serve.

Through an AI-enabled gateway, people can see what boards and commissions exist, understand how they operate, and begin pursuing roles where real authority and responsibility are exercised.

Participation comes first. Understanding deepens through action.

Why This Is Now Possible

Until recently, a system like this was not feasible.

Civic data was fragmented, the appointment ecosystem was difficult to navigate, and guiding individuals from confusion to clarity required significant human effort and coordination.

Modern AI now makes it possible to translate civic complexity into clear, practical guidance — supporting large numbers of people as they explore, prepare for, and step into real civic roles.

Building a Working Civic Gateway

Find Your Seat is being built through a disciplined, phased approach — beginning with a focused initial launch in Colorado and designed for responsible expansion across the United States.

Phase One is designed to deliver a working civic gateway used by real people in real communities — making appointed roles visible, supporting guided exploration, and enabling meaningful participation from the outset.

This initial phase is intentionally scoped to prove the model, validate real-world use, and establish a strong foundation for expansion.
